OMER's Awards

OMER’s Award is named for the Odyssey of the Mind raccoon mascot, OMER, in recognition of individuals or teams who demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship, exemplary behavior, or exceptional talent.

2024 OMER’s Award

Michele has been involved with Odyssey for almost two decades.

Each year, she brings teams to the tournament, and they are so well prepared to compete. Michele works with kids both during the day and after school (and was even packing the truck with props until 10 PM last night). The kids even mentioned how much stuff she has for them to use, including “googly eyes of every size.” In addition to her extended tenure as a coach, Michele has supported the CTOM board and other coaches. She has, on multiple occasions, served as a panelist on our experienced coach panels.

She is also always willing to offer her advice and mentorship to World Finals teams. She has also already said that when she’s done coaching, she will help CTOM in other ways.

Overall, Michele is an exceptional coach and person; she has supported students for many years, and she truly embodies the spirit of Odyssey of the Mind.”
